North shore mini-vacation

Jase surprised us with our Christmas present a little early, a 2 night vacation at the Turtle Bay Resort on the north shore.  We were a little worried about the weather as we had had 2 days of solid rain before we headed out there.
We checked in to the resort in the afternoon and this is what it looked like from our room.  A little stormy and cold.  Granted it is Hawaii so cold was like 75 degrees.  HA!
But...the next day looked like this with sun breaks off and on.  It warmed up and was a great day!
We drove into Hale'iwa town for breakfast and by the time we got back it was sunny and beautiful.  Harlon fell asleep so we hung out in the room and took a bit of a nap with him.
After he woke up we played on the beach and Jase snorkled for a while before we headed to the pools.

Harlon spent the ENTIRE afternoon in the pool.  They had the coolest set up.  There was a big pool that wasn't heated and a smaller kiddie pool with a waterslide as well as a baby pool.  The other babies in the pool made Jase their friend and giggled while they poored water on his head.  It was so cute!  These little girls' parents got a nice break from entertaining and the kids had a great time.

Harlon got pretty brave by the end of the day.  He was showing off the strangers by going underwater and popping up saying "see!"
We headed into town again for dinner that night.  Harlon was spread a little thin that day and barely made it through dinner.  Getting over a cold and a couple late nights pretty much did him in.  I caught his cold and my low back went out but we managed to have a great little vacation.  Hopefully I feel better in a day or so because we have friends coming over for Christmas Eve dinner.  I SO want to be in the holiday spirit!
Driving into town for dinner was this beautiful sunset.  The 2 day storm made a breathtaking sunset.
