Before Harlon went to bed on Christmas Eve we tried to have him help us put out cookies and milk for Santa. Yeah, he was WAY past tired and really upset that he couldn't eat the cookies. My hopes for a cute little gesture crashed as Jase had to carry Harlon upstairs crying over Santa's cookies. Ha! Maybe next year he will be a little more tolerant of Momma's antics.
He was happy to see the cookies gone this morning and his stocking filled with presents from Santa. It all worked out.
He woke up this morning before me and Jase we heard him saying "Santa, presents" over and over from his bedroom. I guess it only takes a few times of explaining that good boys get presents from Santa on Christmas. Ha! Presents and candy have so much power, it's sick really.
He was so cute opening all of his presents. He loved his ukulele from Bopa and Nanny and kept singing the "Jesus" part of Jesus loves me while strumming.
Everything he opened he wanted to play with. We had to keep coaxing him to open the rest of his gifts. He got more presents than any one little kid should get. It was out of control. We are so thankful for all of our family who makes sure our little one doesn't go without. We wish you all could have seen him enjoying your gifts today.
He dug right into the stocking before he has his morning milk so there was a little frustation about not being able to get the presents out.
We did very little today. It was so nice to sit around in our jammies all day. We watched A Christmas Story and the Army/Navy game that was recorded.
I did manage to get the sea of wrapping paper and cardboard out of the living room and in the garage to be recycled.
We brought a plate of leftover dinner from Christmas Eve and some goodies that I baked to our neighbor who was without his family this year. Hopefully he enjoyed them. We had plenty of leftovers for him and many more meals.
Harlon doesn't eat sugar very often and the little bit Santa put in his stocking left him feeling yucky and SO very tired. He was dead tired by 5:30pm, didn't want to even eat dinner and was just in tears for no reason. He was sacked out in bed by 6pm.
I have never seen him this tired before. He has had a lot of excitement these last couple weeks.
Daddy's homecoming, his 2nd birthday party, our mini-vacation, and now Christmas. It's enough to wipe a little boy out. Hopefully he sleeps and sleeps and sleeps tonight.
We loved spending Christmas Day as a family and celebrating the birth of Jesus.
Next year we will have a 3 year old and an almost 1 year old. It's hard to believe. Now that the holidays are over it's time for Jase to get started on his Mustang again and me to get the rest of Addie Mae's things ready. Oh, and gear up for giving birth! Ha!
Harlon was just priceless this year. He even got on the phone with most all the relatives (the rest we will catch tomorrow) and told them all thank you. He is so good about talking on the phone, I hope he never loses that.
Merry Christmas and we hope you all had a blessed day.
