I stole this genius idea from my friend Allison in Texas. Harlon and I painted our pumpkins instead of carving them! It worked out so much better. He is too little to be patient enough or safe enough around knives and what not. So...paint it is.
Harlon used finger paints since he I knew the paint would end up in his mouth. And sure enough...it did. I figured washable finger paints are better in the mouth then acrylics. :)
I think a combination of getting all messy with the paint and the crazy whipping wind up at our house today got him all riled up. He was running back and forth between our house and the neighbors yelling, "wind, run!"
Once I caught him it was up to the bath tub! You can probably see his green/blue tinted body.
After a bath, change of clothes, and lunch Harlon posed with his pumpkin.
And with both the pumpkins.
I tried to get both of us in the picture. I got a foil done on my hair yesterday to try and camoflauge some of the gray hairs. But...my arms aren't long enough! Ha!
It was a fun morning until mama let Harlon get too tired resulting in a major meltdown from both of us. Not a good mom moment at all! Now he is napping. Here's hoping for a refreshed mama and Harlon after a little sleep. I'm excited to see how he reacts to Halloween this year.
