The kids and I headed up the north shore on Saturday to hike the Waimea Falls trail. Jase was going to meet us up there after he got off duty on the boat. It started out so wrong with Addie Mae having tummy trouble and Harlon clearly didn't sleep enough the night before. I decided to brave this outing anyway. I had my heart set on it.
Turns out Addie Mae is NOT content in the back pack like Harlon was as a toddler. She made it miserable for me until I let her down to walk.
It's only 3/4 of a mile up and 3/4 of a mile down. We made it about half way and turned around. It really didn't matter how far we got. the kids had such a great time. Harlon LOVES sticks and he loves pretenting those sticks are anything and everything. Addie Mae walks a few steps, finds a flower, picks it up, sits down and examins the flower. We met Daddy right as he was in line to pay so it worked out perfect. We headed to Waimea Bay for some beach time. Jase has been wanting to jump off the rock at Waimea for some time now. He finally got to do it. :) Being that it is summer, the north shore is usually calm. NOT today. It was wicked rough, but Jase still jumped. I opted out today.

Addie Mae was not having any part of the waves. She decided to eat a little sand instead. :)
