Our first field trip!

Our first field trip with Harlon's school!  To the pumpkin patch we go.  It's crazy, the pumpkins appeared to be shipped in from California.  I guessed that based on the corn field that had been cleared and all of the huge boxes of pumpkins from California near the parking lot.  The most beautiful farm I have ever seen.  Volcano formed moutains right behind you and the ocean right in front.
Harlon had a great time with the other kids and was exhausted by the end.  We went out for burgers on the way home and he ate and entire kids burger!  This is a lot for him.  He usually eats MAYBE half.
I had to coax him into picking a pumpkin to take home.  This year he was into kicking and throwing them.  Oh joy.
There was a hay ride, farm animals to pet, fresh corn and fresh lemonade to buy, face painting, and even a corn maze.  The day was overcast and rainy off and on.  It was nice not having the sun beating down on us.
No fear with the animals.  Jase showed him how to feed them and he was all over it.  He got a little too close to the cranky goose though.
Jase tried to get him up close the the cow but he was not interested.  That one was a little too big for him.  The cow loved Jase though.  It was hilarious.  Jase started petting him behind the ear and the cow got really into it and was leaning his head on Jase's leg.  Ha!
On the hay ride around the farm.  The farm is family owned and about 60 years old.  They started growing fruits and veggies but now just do corn and the pumpkin patch.
The whole family, can you believe it?!  Praise the Lord that Monday was a holiday and there wasn't much going on for Jase on the boat.  How many times to working Dad's get to go on field trips with their kids?
