Sunday marks 5 years since Jase and I got married on the breathtaking Kapalua Bay beach on Maui. We celebrated Friday night with a DATE! Woo Hoo! We tried out our new sitter (who was WONDERFUL) by having a delicious dinner at Hy's Steakhouse in Waikiki. Hy's is a prime beef steakhouse so we were VERY excited. It was delicious, don't get me wrong but I know when we go back to Texas we are going to be in heaven the first time we eat steak. This was Kansas City beef, I had to ask of course.
I love being Jase's wife and after 5 years I am confident that the Lord paired us together for a reason. He knew I needed someone who was willing to put up with my stubborness and someone who was forgiving. I have learned so much about myself in these 5 years. It blows my mind to think of all we have been through in 5 years. We've lived in 3 different states, done an Iraq deployment, the birth of our son, a submarine deployment and countless underways, the birth of our daughter, and the fun just continues. I love our marriage and our life and I look forward to many more years and adventures together. I love this man more everyday and I still feel like a silly, giddy teenager everytime he walks through the door.
My thoughtful husband actually looked up that wood signifies a 5 year wedding anniversary. He got me a Pandora bracelet (which I have been wanting forever) with 3 different wooden beads, one with his birthstone and one with Addie Mae's birthstone (they were out of Harlon's and mine, HA!) I LOVE IT!
On the way home we stopped and took our traditional picture together. I cropped it so you can't see Jase's arm holding the camera out, HA!
