Jase and I have been to Roy's Hawaiian Fusion restaurant a couple times since we have lived here. Each time I have had a pineapple martini, YUM! The description says it's made with pineapple infused vodka. I never really thought much about it. The last time we went I happened to see a huge glass beverage dispenser full of pineapple and vodka. I looked it up on the internet and it's as simple as a bunch of cut up pineapple in the bottle with vodka and TA DA, you have pineapple infused vodka.
Jase has started brewing his own beer so I think that inspired me to infuse some vodka. Also...I just like to make things. :) We used Tito's becuase it's delicious vodka that is made in Austin, Texas.
So I poured the vodka in a bowl, and cut up a beautiful Hawaiian pineapple. We also prepared the pineapple top to plant. It takes a year and half for a pineapple to start growing so we'll see how that one goes.
I then stuffed the vodka bottle full of the pineapple.
I poured the vodka back into the bottle and in about 2 weeks we should be enjoying our vodka!
We have some leftover vodka of course so we tried a new drink tonight.
1/2 lime, juiced with the spent lime dropped in the glass
Ice
2 ounces vodka
4-6 ounces ginger beer
It's called a Moscow Mule and it is delicious and refreshing and crisp, kind of like a gin and tonic. You could use ginger ale but ginger beer has more of a bite to it.
