Our precious baby girl turned 1 week old yesterday. She is doing well, still a little jaundice but eating like a champ. She looks just like Harlon did as a newborn. I love the similarities. She also sleeps with her arms above her head like big brother did. She cries a lot more but is starting to be more alert as the jaundice goes away and shoes signs of the quiet serious baby Harlon was.
Jase is on leave this week but has gone into work most everyday. How does that work? Don't even get me started on that one. Anyway, When he is home to play with Harlon and Addie Mae is sleeping I have been able to catch a quick nap or two. Something I did all day with Harlon only happens once in a great while with child number two. Funny how I took it for granted then.
My good friend Lori has been such a blessing from God. She has hauled her two little ones out to the house everyday Jase has been gone to help me with Harlon. I seriously couldn't have done this week without her. I would have been a crying stressed out mess. With a baby feeding on me all day and night and a 2 year old who needs his momma as well and me trying to heal from childbirth there is no way I could do this alone. I am so thankful!
Love this sleeping little girl! My lactation consultant came and weighed Addie Mae today and she has gained her birth weight back plus 2 ounces. Keep eating little girl!
I got a moment with both of my babies today while Harlon was watching Cars. I miss my little boy and am looking forward to have a little more time for him in the coming months. He is being a good boy and big brother most of the time. He has his emotional moments when he's tired or hungry but is trying hard to be good. It felt so good to put him to bed tonight while Addie Mae was sleeping in her swing. We will get a new normal established soon. I love my little family of 4!
