December 7, my baby turned 2 years old on Pearl Harbor day.  Crazy that he will spend this and probably a few more birthdays on the very island where such historic events took place.
Harlon has a birthday celebration coming but we are waiting just a little bit until Daddy can be with us.  Instead I took Harlon to the doctor for his well baby check up, HA!  No shots, just a check up (I had to give him a little break on his special day).
Harlon is 37.5 inches tall (100th percentile) and 33.8 lbs (97th percentile).  The doctor predicts he will grow to be taller than his daddy when he's full grown.  We're all for it but Jase was supposed to be taller than he turned out so we'll have to see.
Harlon is such a busy ball of emotion.  He has grown and changed so much in the last 6 months it is just amazing to me.  He went from saying single words when Jase left to putting together 3 word sentences.  He even said "the blocks fell down" the other day.  It's crazy how much he understands.  When he can't pronounce a word right away he will actually say it over and over until he gets it.
He loves his family, friends and absolutely thinks his Daddy hung the moon.  It is the sweetest thing to hear him talk about how he is going to help his Daddy fix the mustang when he gets home.  Jase better be ready!  He loves trains, cars, trucks and all things fast.  He also loves books, and music.  He can sing along to certain songs that he has heard a lot.  He loves to build and fix things as well and he is a serious climber.  I think he will love what Momma and Daddy got him for Christmas. He is interested in sports as well, basically he's all BOY!
I love how sweet and empathetic he can be.  These days he won't let Momma out of his sight.  I was wondering if that day would come as he was such an independent baby.
Sesame Street and Sid the Science Kid are the TV shows that he loves.  He is a challenging little guy (I probably take my job a bit too seriously) but he wakes up happy and goes to bed happy and I just love every second I spend with him.  Jase reminded me recently of the time when Harlon first started eating Cheerios.  We got a good laugh at what a cute little baby he was.  My how time flies!
