All,
Well, I have 23 days and a wake up now till I leave. I still have a brief stay in Kuwait so I can turn in gear and get the standard "redeployment is hard, don't hurt yourself" briefs. My relief will be here soon and he will be a very welcome site. I think that 12 months is a hair too long. I think at some point, people just get burnt out and become less effective. Maybe 8 or 10. The Army doing 15 must just be numb at the end. I hope most of you got a chance to watch Petraues' testimony. I don't think he used the paper I had to write for it, but he still had some good things to say. Unfortunately, Congress was more interested in him being a fortune teller that can predict the exact moment we will be able to leave, than actually hearing what the man had to say. It's been pretty dusty here lately. Several dust storms have come in. It's really weird, because you would expect it to be windy, but it's not. It's just like a fog of sand. In other news, if you hadn't heard yet I apologize, Jamie and I are going to have a baby! She is due in December and her first doctor's appointment is coming up in the next couple weeks. Apparently, our time together in March was more eventful than we realized. Jamie keeps a pretty regular blog at www.jaseandjamie.blogspot.com It has pictures and updates from both of us throughout this deployment. Well, that is pretty much it for now. Talk to ya'll later.
Jase
